Honey

Honey is the product of nectar collected by our bees from flowers. Consequently the honey takes on the flavor of the flowers that the bees forage on. Since we process our honey by hand, and harvest from a variety of nectar sources we are able to offer some very unique and delicious honey.

We currently have the following Products available:

Black Locust – This is a water white honey that is so clear you can see through it like looking through glass. It has a very light sweet taste

Blackberry – Just like it sounds a ton of blackberry flavor. We put the boxes called supers on the hives right when we see the blossoms form, then when the blossoms fall off we harvest yielding a honey with the flavor of the blackberry flower.

Red Raspberry – Harvested the same way as the blackberry but from Red Raspberry plots, this honey is light and flavor full.

Basswood –  The Basswood tree also known as linden with a botanical name of tilia produces a very light honey with a minty flavor.

Spring Nature Preserve – This honey was harvested near a state nature preserve which has a variety of flower producing plants and trees. It is an amber color and has a cinnamon flavor.

Natural Pasture – Plants in the area include a variety of spring and summer clovers, dandelion, thistle, and milkweed. The honey is a light amber color and has a very mild flavor.

Fall – The goldenrod, asters, and queen ann’s lace produce a darker amber more robust flavored honey that is very delicious.
